Good Morning. WOW! This is our first day for blizzard bag work. Follow the links below to see what your day will look like. Remember to ask an adult to fill out the checklist as you complete each task.
When you are done... GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY!!!
Math
2. Complete the two sided logic puzzles in your folder (on blue paper).
OR
If you are not connected to the internet or if you have lost power, you may work on:
1. the three worksheets for DAY 1 on blue paper, that are in your blizzard bag
2. the two sided logic puzzles in your folder on blue paper.
Literacy
1. Read The Old Man On The Mountain Reading Comprehension passage from Mr. Nussbaum. Answer the 5 questions and write the score on the checklist for Day 1 reading, that you receive at the end.
2. Visit Spellingcity.com to play a game of Word Unscramble. Be sure that your volume is up so you can listen to the word, and choose the letter that makes the word complete. At the end, you will receive a score. Write your percentage score on the checklist for Day 1 spelling.
OR
1. If you do not have access to a computer read the Old Man On The Mountain passage from the folder and answer the 5 questions. (On blue paper.)
2. Complete the Art Smart word ladder for Day 1 Spelling. (Blue paper)
Science
Visit the Scholastic Study Jams website. Play the video about Matter, Solids, Liquids, & Gases. Sing along with the Karaoke song and when you have finished, you must click on the 'test yourself' button. Take the 7 question quiz. At the end of the quiz, your score will show on the screen, write the percentage you earned on the Day 1 checklist.
OR
If you do not have access to the internet, cut the State of Things Matter pictures and sort the picture cards into solids, liquids, and gases groups. Once you have sorted them, write the words on the worksheet in the correct place. The worksheet should be passed in when you return to school, you may keep the picture cards.
